BIOGRAPHY
Tracey Rothwell is the Director of Rothwell Lawyers and a highly respected commercial and corporate lawyer, admitted in 1989. She has over 35 years’ experience advising clients across a wide range of matters, including commercial law, insolvency, debt recovery, trade credit, corporate recovery, and risk management. Tracey regularly appears in State and Federal Courts and handles execution proceedings such as bankruptcy and winding-up matters.
A key aspect of Tracey’s work is reviewing credit applications, trade terms, and credit policies to help businesses manage risk and achieve practical outcomes when customer defaults occur. She has played a leading role in numerous corporate insolvencies, acting to protect the interests of both individual and corporate stakeholders.
Tracey has been a member of the Australian Institute of Credit Management (AICM) for over 30 years, including service on council and subcommittees, and is a former committee member of Women in Insolvency and Restructuring Victoria (formerly IWRC). She is a regular presenter at industry seminars, workshops, and forums, providing practical insights drawn from her extensive experience.
Tracey holds a Bachelor of Laws, a Bachelor of Jurisprudence, and an Advanced Certificate in Insolvency from Australian Restructuring Insolvency and Turnaround Association, and works closely with Melbourne Debt Collectors on practical, outcome-focused credit management and debt recovery matters.
